Well, boy howdy! Creem magazine is back.

More than three decades after the demise of the wild, freewheeling, Detroit-bred rock publication, Creem is being resurrected with an ambitious print and digital effort – part of a broader plan to become a full-on entertainment company that could include concerts, podcasts , even a TV show.

The reboot is spearheaded by the Detroit-born son of Creem’s original publisher and is headquartered in New York. It comes with a team of seasoned executives and editorial staffers, along with a strategy to reconnect with the magazine’s Motor City roots, including a planned Detroit satellite office and annual music festival.

Quietly in the works for several years, the relaunch follows a well-received 2019 Creem documentary that reignited interest in the brand.
